Yuri Ferretti (he/his) was born in Tuscany, Italy. When he was 18, he discovered Oriental dance thanks to Gloria Ozalzhim, who trained him for a year.

In 2012, he moved to Berlin to attend the Tanzakademie Cifuentes, where he graduated from their two-year CATT (Certified Academic Teacher Training) for Oriental dancers in November 2015. In the same year, he also danced as a member of the CATT Company, an oriental dance company founded and directed by Beata and Horacio Cifuentes.

He was first introduced to Tribal Fusion on YouTube, then had the opportunity to take workshops with international teachers, such as Patricia Zarnovican, Mardi Love, Samantha Emanuel, Ashley López, April Rose, Tjarda, Alexis Southall and others.

He also undertook regular Tribal Fusion classes with Silvia Orchidaceae from 2014 to 2016. In 2015, he fell in love with FatChanceBellyDance® Style (former American Tribal Style) and took regular classes with Fara la Sombra from January 2016 to August 2017.

In October 2017 he started the Facebook project ATS® Friday Challenge together with Anna Nordling (Sweden) and with the cooperation of the FCCE teacher Kelley Beeston (United Kingdom)

Yuri is still based in Berlin where he teaches regular FCBD® Style classes.
